Nocks
These are generally plastic and are available in various sizes according to the diameter of the shaft (1/4", 9/32", 5/16", 11/32" ferrules). The recess in the nock should not be tight; otherwise it will pinch the bow string. Nocks should snap onto the string snugly, tight enough to allow the arrow to hang from the string if you hold it vertically and only falling off when you lightly tap the bow string. Nocks should be fitted straight on the shaft. If the nock is crooked it will affect the flight of the arrow, pushing it sideways immediately it is released from the bow. Make sure the arrow nocks are straight when buying pre-made arrows, if you make your own arrows check the nocks with a Nock Alignment Jig.
